Summary Description of Position

This position will report to the Production Manager and will coordinate production activities in order to achieve operational goals.

Major Responsibility Areas and Duties

  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed and plant operates in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Coordinate all production control & operations planning and sequencing.
  • Oversee the production process and manage the production schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
  • Develop, motivate, and manage team demonstrating cooperation, teamwork and a positive attitude toward company goals and objectives.
  • Implement innovative programs to foster employee morale.
  • Oversee capacity management for the facility by ensuring production schedules are achieved and make adjustments based on availability of equipment, materials, and manning.
  • Champions the GEMBA process and reviews performance levels of the production teams in the areas of safety, scrap, quality, cost and efficiency. Initiates corrective action to maintain performance to goals.
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout the plant; leads mentors, and empowers production teams to seek out solutions to business issues.
  • Creates and implements visual shop floor controls including low inventory signals, replenishment methods and strategic inventory queues.
  • Effectively implements production plans and performance criteria and records KPI performance for continuous improvement.
  • Trains production teams to utilize lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Apply problem solving skills to analyze root cause and implement countermeasures.
  • Continuously improves production by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
  • Works between production and material service personnel to enhance line fill/deliver metrics and service to customers.
  • Addresses personnel issues with the assistance of Human Resources including, but not limited to, attendance, time reporting, vacation scheduling, team member evaluation, training, modified duty assignments, and discipline.
  • Fosters a collaborative, self-directed work environment for plant personnel.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ Years progressive years in operations as a Production Supervisor
  • Background with manufacturing methods, work flow, standard work, process improvement, and quality control.
  • Strong leadership skills and management experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of production and inventory control systems
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must be a good communicator both written and verbal
  • Must be able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience / Training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Compensation Package:

  • Bonus opportunities

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
