Job Function: To effectively perform all hands-on duties of Production Manager in an efficient manner, following company policies and procedures. To manage the Production Manufacturing department’s non-exempt staff to ensure that all day-to-day operations run smoothly. To ensure that all efforts contribute to the best financial interest of Transpacific Food.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the Production of all products produced by TPF.
  • Responsible for all documentation related to processing and sanitation.
  • Responsible for overseeing all staging of material and compliance related documentation.
  • Responsible for assigning roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand.
  • Responsible for all compliance related training (internal or external) of non-exempt production employees.
  • Responsible for enforcing health/safety procedures and guidelines for manufacturing operation.
  • Responsible for always keeping the plant “Audit Ready”.
  • Always keep the plant in “6 –S” status.
  • Keeps an open line of communication with the Plant Manager.
  • Willing to be hands on in any aspect of production.
  • Responsible for ensuring all raw material used in the manufacturing process meets TPF standards.
  • Must attend safety meetings.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained in proper sanitation practices consistent with TPF standards, including following all SSOPs and OSHA guidelines.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all GMPs, Transpacific Food policies and procedures, including a high attention to Food safety.
  • Keep an open line of communication with all subordinates, supervisors, departments, and other members of the management team.
  • Monitors and administers any discipline for direct reports, in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Assist in development and implementation of any new process or policy.
  • Communicate with the Plant Manager and keep associates informed of problems or achievements.
  • Conduct internal or external inspections as needed.
  • Assist in supervision of hourly employees as needed.
  • Suggest ideas or solutions to improve efficiencies, housekeeping, etc.
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety concern and empowered to do so.
  • Be a team player. Help in other areas of the Plant as needed.
  • Lead subordinates by example with regards to performance, neatness, safety, reliability, and following Company policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years of responsible experience in food production; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

HACCP, PCQI *preferred
