Overview

The Complex Director of Finance is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotels by focusing on profitability; maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting; ensuring acceptable levels of internal control; ensuring compliance with all regulations and Highgate Hotels’ Standard Operating Procedures; and safeguarding owners/investors' assets.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues, including preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines.
• Create annual budgets and monthly variance analysis, investigating variances and offering practical improvement methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes.
• Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
• Comply with Standard Accounting policies and procedures.
• Review and approve all balance sheet accounts and reconciliations.
• Establish and audit all internal financial controls.
• Complete all internal and external financial audits.
• Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff.
• Maintain compliance with Highgate Hotels’ standards.
• Prepare all financial reports according to requirements.
• Interact with Executive Committee members to ensure property operations are on track.
• Monitor compliance with report deadlines.
• Execute other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Hospitality Finance/Accounting experience.
• Prior Control or Director of Finance experience, preferably at a premium-branded Hotel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• Must supervise 2 or more employees.
• Proficient in Windows and hotel-specific systems.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Effective communication with employees and guests.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
• Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotels Standards.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Maximize productivity and assist in implementing solutions.
• Handle problems effectively and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Salary: $130K - $140K/Annually plus bonus
