Job Description
The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of Lead Building Electrical Engineer at our Vancouver / Victoria office. Working with a team of highly qualified, enthusiastic individuals, you will be responsible for managing projects of various scope, and developing solutions tailored to customer needs. You'll oversee the design, inspection and implementation of electrical systems for multidisciplinary projects on healthcare, transit, light industrial, municipal and government buildings.

The expected salary for this position is from $130,000 to $170,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.

You'll oversee the design, inspection and implementation of electrical systems for multidisciplinary projects on healthcare, transit, light industrial, municipal and government buildings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects and project teams through all phases of project planning, design, construction and commissioning of Electrical projects
- Prepare and/or supervise engineering studies, reports, calculations, plans and contract documents for Electrical Buildings projects
- Build relationships with existing and potential clients in effort to grow the local Buildings Engineering practice
- Contribute to the development of the electrical engineering group's technical expertise in order to meet our clients' needs
- Analyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines, and coordinate project completion
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, key contacts in the industry and other departments within CIMA+
- Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, project stakeholders, and contractors
- Assist in the supervision and management of electrical engineering team members, including engineers, technicians, and support staff
- Evaluate technical work, delegate responsibilities and provide instructions. Make recommendations regarding the selection of new employees in the recruitment process, training, performance evaluation and compensation management
- Prepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this task.
Qualifications
- University degree in electrical engineering
- Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada
- Over 15 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector
- Experience in managing teams of professional engineers (an asset)
- Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in Vancouver and surrounding area (an asset)
- Ability to break projects down into tasks and sequences to ensure project delivery within established scope, schedule and budget
- Excellent written and verbal communication of project plans and presentations
