About the Role
The Electrical Design Engineer role involves developing and designing electrical circuits for various aerospace applications, adhering to standards like DO-254, DO-160, and DO-178, while ensuring safety requirements are met. Responsibilities include creating detailed schematic diagrams, preparing comprehensive documentation for manufacturing and troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position also requires evaluating system performance, optimizing designs, and creating analog and mixed-signal circuits for printed circuit boards and battery management systems for high-voltage batteries, as well as conducting full life cycle test activities, including drafting test plans and building test setups.

This position's approximate base salary range is $118,000 - $135,000 for a Level III Engineer, and $142,000 - $160,000 for a Level IV Engineer. Actual salaries further determined by candidate experience and level of education.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. Under §120.15, a "U.S. Person" includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. As this position requires access to export-controlled data, an appropriate export authorization by the U.S. Government may be required prior to such access. Employment, and the continuity of employment of non-U.S. persons, is contingent upon the company's ability to secure and maintain the necessary export control authorization.

About the Role

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and design electrical circuits for diverse applications following aerospace standards such as DO-254, DO-160, and DO-178.
- Account for all safety requirements during the design phase.
- Create detailed schematic diagrams to communicate electrical design concepts.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation to support the manufacturing and troubleshooting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing technical expertise to support project completion.
- Constantly evaluate systems performance, leading optimization efforts when necessary.
- Design analog, sensor interfaces, mixed signal design to be implemented onto printed circuit boards.
- Design battery management electronics for multicell high voltage batteries
- Conducting full life cycle test activities, such as drafting test plans, choosing instrumentation, and building the test bench.
- Ensure that powertrain designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability standards, and comply with IPC/IEC standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Level III: 4-7 years of proven experience in Electrical Design.
- Level IV: 7+ years of proven experience in Electrical Design.
- Experience with serial interfaces such as CAN, CAN FD, ARINC-429, RS-485
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits and high voltage safety requirements.
- Expertise in creating comprehensive schematic diagrams and documentation.
- Experience with schematic design tools such as Altium or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
