Our office in Richmond, VA is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead a fast-paced, multi-discipline team. Our Electrical Engineers focus primarily on the design of building-related projects including healthcare, higher educational facilities, large commercial projects, and local government projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Job Summary:
Our office in Richmond, VA is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead a fast-paced, multi-discipline team. Our Electrical Engineers focus primarily on the design of building-related projects including healthcare, higher educational facilities, large commercial projects, and local government projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to a team of engineers
- Develop electrical system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of electrical systems for a variety of market types
- Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing electrical systems
- Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
- Write and edit project specifications
- Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
- Perform code compliance research
- Coordinate work with other disciplines
- Provide construction administration services
- Perform QA/QC of design work
- Serve as the primary contact for clients
- Assist in the procurement of new work including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Drafting
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design
- PE License (preferred)
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
- Hands-on experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software
- Team management experience (preferred)

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines
- A positive attitude with colleagues and clients
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
