Floating is required to IMCU/Tele/CDU.

Patient Diagnosis

• Adult, Geriatric, General Respiratory Failure, Cardiac, Renal, CIWA, GI
• Mixed Tele and IMCU on two floors: IMCU on 3E with a 1:3 patient ratio, Tele on 2E with a 1:4 patient ratio
• IMCU Level RNs required for this PCU

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Pre/Post cardiac cath
• Bipap, Breathing Treatments, CPAP/BiPap
• Cardioversion / Defibrillation
• Cooling / Warming Blanket
• Obtain 12 Lead EKG
• Drains, Epidural Pumps, Feeding Tubes, Fistula, PCA Pumps
• PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, Syringe Pumps, Triple Lumen Catheter, Wound Vac
• Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Anti-seizure

Special Equipment

• BetaBlockers
• Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine
• Heparin, Insulin
• Levophed, Magnesium Sulfate
• Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Norepinephrine

Skills Required

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
• Tracheostomy management

ACLS, BLS required
