Job Description
An employer is looking for a remote Product Owner to join their team remotely based in Eastern Standard time. This client is embarking on an effort to modernize and re-platform their applications. The Product Owner will help finish the discovery phase, and then will be working with the technical team to modernize the company's technical foundation utilizing Microsoft Power Platform so they can move forward with modernizing and upgrading all applications that sit on this platform. The goal is to push for a stream of application modernization and will be a combination of modernizing the foundation and teaching the existing team members the modernization for knowledge transfer. This resource will work closely with a Scrum Master, and need to have the ability to be coached by the Scrum Master on best practices and help lead the adoption of scrum by example.
Responsibilities of the product owner include:
· Using empirical product planning techniques to maximize the value of a scrum team by guiding them in improving the utility and value of the product
· Responsible for defining a clearly understood product goal accomplished by multiple sprints of work
· Managing the product backlog by ensuring the work items contained within it are well-ordered, well understood, possible to be completed during a sprint, are non-dependent on outside work completion, and result in usable, valuable software
· Participating in Scrum events as their highest priority including Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
· Host and lead the Sprint Review
· Being immersed in the strategic planning, marketing, product, and other decision making within the business
· Communicating a clear, achievable vision of the future of the product should the scrum team be successful
· Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that all competing priorities are taken into consideration for decisions about how to order the product backlog
· Forecasting completion of work in the product backlog by understanding the past performance of the team, the items in the product backlog, the future capacity of the team, and the team's definition of done

Skills and Requirements
· 5-7 years of working experience as a Product Owner
· Collaborative working style and philosophy
· Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating team collaboration and communication
· Education in product development, marketing, engineering with training or experience in business product development
· Ability to be coached by a Scrum Master and help drive related practices for the organization
Previously acted as a Product Owner on a project for a new implementation/modernization effort from the ground up null
