As a member of the GPU Applied Research team, you will work with senior graphics engineers / architects on applying cutting edge rendering techniques to future product prototypes. Role requires knowledge of current and future graphics trends, and the ability to implement them on Apple’s custom hardware & software.  We are looking for someone with a strong background in computer graphics / rendering algorithms. Bonus skills include familiarity or proficiency Machine Learning and website automation. Description- Collaborate with numerous teams across Apple to understand & guide their roadmap for future graphics use cases. - Keep up to date on recent papers and talks to foresee upcoming trends in computer graphics / machine learning. - Prototype forward looking GPU intensive workloads using Apple’s proprietary SW stack and HW features. - Analyze these workloads on future GPU architectures, identify bottlenecks, and propose future architectural changes when necessary. - Advise external teams on rendering algorithms and GPU features to optimize their workload implementations. Minimum QualificationsBS in Computer Science / Computer Engineer / or other related field.Understanding of software engineering principles and core computer science fundamentals.Proficiency in C / C++ / Objective-C, and source code control tools.Understanding of physically based rendering and computer graphics principlesKnowledge of modern rendering algorithms and techniquesHigh level familiarity with the GPU hardware pipelineExperience writing and debugging shadersPreferred QualificationsExperience developing apps for Apple’s platforms (iOS, macOS, visionOS, tvOS), using Xcode.Experience using and modifying the Unreal EngineKnowledge or proficiency with Machine Learning algorithmsExperience with website and infrastructure maintenancePay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $183,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
