Position Summary
This position requires a qualified, service-oriented individual to perform operation, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of assigned equipment. A qualified individual must be able to test, inspect, troubleshoot, operate equipment, repair UPS systems and DC power equipment. They must be able to manage small to large size projects with good project management and organizational skills. They must be self-directed and very committed to customer satisfaction. Excellent communication skills with clients, peers and management are essential.

Additional Information
Travel: Up to 75% travel
Type: Full-time
Location: Wixom, MI
Compensation: $45.00 to $55.00 depending on experience and eligible for overtime.
Relocation: Relocation provided for highly qualified applicants.

Job Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility will be to perform trouble shooting, repairs of UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, regulators, and associates AC and DC electrical systems.
- Complete test reports to Company and Customer standards and timelines.
- Report all customer experienced load losses to assigned manager as soon as possible.
- Be prepared to respond promptly and professionally to emergency calls (including weekend and holidays)
- Communicate to customer as customer requests / requires, activities, project status, and action plans.
- Communicate with Project Manager, Manager or other designee for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information on jobs in process and completed.
- Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless operation.
- Maintain strong client relationships, prepare project estimates, expand project work scopes, and assist in negotiating extra charges.
- Ability to walk through customers' sites, inspect problem(s) & report problem(s) to Sales and Project Management.
- Help manage the on-going schedule and travel planning to facilitate timely response to customers.
- Work may require flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. Must be available for out-of-town work.
- Mentor and train Field Techs as directed.
- Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members and/or leadership regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to effectively complete jobs.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area; Observe all company, local, and federal safety rules, location and company best practices, and company policies and procedures.
- Work with assigned manager and sales team members to expand and grow all of RESA service offerings.
- Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years related experience.
- Knowledge of various safety standards such as OSHA and any state safety standards
- Knowledge of industry standards such as OSHA, IEEE and NFPA.
- Thorough understanding of heavy industrial, utility, large commercial, renewable energy, and ability to troubleshoot complex business issues.
- Proven mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of battery replacements. Low and high voltage equipment (requirement varies on location) a plus.
- Must have DC Power knowledge. Experienced performing power plant battery replacements and VRLA battery replacements, working with wet cell batteries.
- Able to effectively problem solve.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports.
- Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions-written direction, oral direction, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate.
- Customer Focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce quality work.
- For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver's license; CDL license a plus.
