Schedule: Full time (Projects starting in early March)
Compensation: $45.96 - $52.92/hr (wage subject to Union rates and increases for subsequent years)
Location: Connecticut (Projects on Route 7 in Norwalk, Milford Parkway in Milford and Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks).

Mission for the position: Bring your A-game and become part of the Waters Construction Team! You will work on various high profile projects and network with a highly skilled workforce. Constructing projects with maximum safety, efficiency and quality, the operator will be required to perform daily tasks assigned by foreman and/or superintendent effectively and professionally. He/she should not be afraid to ask questions or clarifications when the task is not familiar with their background and experience or when the precise means for the operation are not obvious or clear.
Whats Needed:
- The Norwalk and Milford project requires operators to safely and efficiently operate excavators, wheeled excavators, mini excavators, loaders, and sweepers on night operations under lane closures conditions and adjacent to live highway traffic.
- The Bradley Airport project requires operators to safely and efficiently operate excavators, wheeled excavators, loaders, dozers, and dirt rollers during both day and night time operations due to the contractual restrictions applied to the project.
- Extreme precision must be adopted when operating machinery within airfield areas following airport protocols and regulations.
- Skilled operators with additional experience operating dirt rollers and dozers are welcome to apply
- Operator must be willing to work efficiently and safely at night for the entire 2025 season.
- Operators also need to be flexible and capable of operating multiple pieces of equipment.

Safe: Projects are constructed next to live traffic and sensitive electrical and communication infrastructure. Safety cannot be compromised at any time. The pace is quick and operators need to be alert at all times.
Polite: Projects and processes may be complicated and stressful, but kindness is expected at all times when dealing with internal/external crews, subs, inspectors, and clients.
Competencies for the Position:
- Two (2) years of experience operating excavators (tracked or wheeled), loaders, and asphalt paving equipment like rollers, pavers, MTV, or skid-steers.
- Team player willing to take direction
- Compliant and responsible for the safe operation and basic maintenance of your assigned equipment.
- Physically fit and in shape to perform laborer work
- OSHA 10 hour
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40 (preferred)
- Current CT driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation and willing to travel within CT
- Can work Overtime when needed
- Fluent in English for both verbal and written communication
- Basic layout understanding and knows the difference between tenths/inches
- Experience in site development / heavy highway / paving / concrete ( 3 year)
- Willingness to learn
- Lives in CT or can commute to jobsites
- High school diploma or GED
