Accounting Manager (Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a growing company in the energy sector located in Austin, Texas. This role will oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including managing a team, ensuring accurate financial records, producing reports, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, billing, receivables, and payables.

  • Develop and implement an efficient month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.

  • Analyze financial results to identify trends, costs, and budget compliance, providing actionable insights.

  • Design and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial records.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with key management.

  • Oversee tax reporting requirements, including franchise taxes, sales taxes, and property taxes, ensuring compliance.

  • Collaborate on the preparation of financial reporting packets for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

  • Manage the year-end audit process and act as the primary contact for independent auditors.

  • Drive process improvements and develop efficiencies within financial operations.

  • Supervise, train, and develop accounting department employees.

Client Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA certification required.

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, including managing teams.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with process improvement initiatives.

  • Public accounting experience is preferred; a Master’s degree in accounting or business administration is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) chart of accounts and construction accounting procedures is beneficial.

  • Proven ability to lead a seamless and effective month-end closing process.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with a growth-oriented environment is an asset.
