Summary:
To assist the Controller in performing Agency accounting functions following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Partners with HR Generalist, Grants Manager, and Agency staff to ensure accurate and timely accounting information and processes. Provides certain general oversight of and guidance to Accounting Staff.
•General Accounting
•Assist Controller with Affiliate accounting support.
•Process weekly payables check run; invoice entry performed by Bookkeeper.
•Process online payments.
•Upload Positive Pay file to bank.
•Audit vendor records to ensure current and accurate information (W9, etc.).
•With Bookkeeper, prepare and distribute annual 1099 and other related tax forms.
•Partner with Grants Manager for monthly grant accounting support.
•Maintain and track grant analysis.
•Process month-end balancing and journal entries.
•Prepare balance sheet, general ledger and payroll account reconciliations.
•Produce financials for Affiliates.
•Prepare BBBSA monthly financial reporting and subscription dues calculation.
•In conjunction with Controller, provide staff leadership with monthly reporting and analysis
•Assist Controller with annual GAAP audit.
•Ad hoc requests, which may include data research, insurance reporting, etc.
•Recommend and assist with continuous improvement efforts across the accounting function
•Reconcile Bank statements for all entities.
•Payroll
•Partner with HR Generalist to ensure accurate payroll and benefit records stored in Paylocity.
•Review payroll for agency and subsidiary staff.
•Assist with payroll related tax and other filings, reimbursements, and reconciliations to ensure balance with records and the general ledger accounts.

- Review accounts payable coding & compliance.
- Review payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Review monthly reconciliations (Bank, credit card, Sales Force, Ultracamp).
- Review inter-company invoices
- Review and submit lodging/bed tax returns
- Grant support and reconciliation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience, along with supervisory duties.
- Understanding of accounting and mathematical concepts
- Excellent computer skills; use of Microsoft office products particularly Excel and Adobe
- Strong analytical skills: ability to research, explain, and solve problems
- Adaptable to change.
- Willing and able to make last minute changes to accommodate job responsibilities
