Job Title: Production Operator
Job Description

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing quality production according to work orders or build signals. General duties may include picking, packing, kitting, and assembling. Machine setup and equipment operation may be required. You will prepare machines to start the production cycle, perform calibrations, monitor and properly adjust machine settings, and maintain records and activity logs.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture quality production according to work orders or build signals
  • Perform general duties including picking, packing, kitting, and assembling
  • Set up and operate machines and equipment as required
  • Prepare machines for the start of production cycles by performing calibrations
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings as necessary
  • Maintain records and activity logs
Essential Skills
  • 6 months of production experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 6 months of mechanical experience or equivalent
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Mechanical experience
  • Production experience
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Possess manual dexterity and good coordination
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Proven mechanical ability or aptitude
  • Ability to resolve minor problems and recognize normal and unusual situations
  • Ability to learn instrument or circuit board assembly (specific to Loveland), machine operations including setup and changeover, and/or kitting
  • Ability to work with manual and/or power equipment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes is helpful

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, and workspace restrictions. The noise level in the work environment can be occasionally loud. Employees are required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye and hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and gloves. Contact lenses are not allowed in production areas. PPE such as eye, hearing, and gloves are provided. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. You will typically work individually.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
