Job Title: CUSTODIAN
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma, certification of good health signed by a license physician, ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports, and demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned.
General: Sufficiant physical strength and agility to work continuous hours on feet; to lift and carry moderately heavy supplies, equipment and furniture (approximately 50 pounds); to use a ladder up to 10 feet in height; to remove snow and ice from walks; to maintain grounds and planting areas, and to do all phases of custodial work generally assigned to custodians in the school district.
Reports to: Building Principal and Superintendent. Works in conjunction with the Maintenance Director.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of the school buildings including but not limited to; floors, whiteboards, smartboard, wastebaskets, locker rooms, and restrooms.
- Assists with general mechanics of remodeling and renovation work as needed.
- Assists in snow removal and upkeep of grounds, as necessary.
- Requisitions and receives supplies and equipment and maintains necessary inventories as needed. Communicates with Maintenance Director, Building Principal, or Superintendent if inventories/supplies run low.
- Reports any security problems to the Maintenance Director, Building Principal, and Superintendent as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for the general fire, life, and safety of the building.
- Assists staff as requested as approved by Building Principal and/or Superintendent.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned projects concerning OSHA, Fire Marshal regulations, and Asbestos Management Regulations as designated by the Maintenance Director, Principal, or Superintendent.
- Communicates to the Maintenance Director and/or Building Principal of daily schedule of tasks. Can communicate with Superintendent if Maintenance Director and Principal are not in the building for the day.
- Reports any problems or concerns with students, employees, or members of the public to the Maintenance Director and/or Building Principal and/or Superintendent.
- Maintains professionalism in respects to language, dress, and interactions with staff and students. Must maintain professional interactions with staff and superiors while maintaining appropriate professional distance with students.
- Assists in cleaning or situations that arise during their shift not listed above.
