Position Summary
PLEASENOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM,approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of NewMexico's Gallup Branch, Business and Applied Technology Division, anticipateshiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower divisioncourses (100/200 level) in the Summer, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters in thefollowing potential disciplines:
Arc Welding
Oxy fuel Welding
Gas Metal Arc Welding
General Welding Applications
Pipe Welding
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
Layout and Fabrication

The Business and Applied Technology Division atUNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members toteach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above.UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they areteaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the classduring assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery,assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, andassessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.
Positionsare contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollmentlevels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduationrequirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up tothe deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who areselected for these positions will report to the division chair.
Wages
Adjunct faculty are currently compensated on the basis oftheir credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows:
Credentials Rateper Credit Hour
Bachelor, plus 12 hours collegeteaching $920.95
Bachelor, less than 12 hours collegeteaching $881.92
Experience atJourneyman $920.95

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Welding Technology or closely-related trade field OR five years' supervisory experience in the welding industry.
- Three years' experience working in the welding industry, or a closely-related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry-recognized credentials (i.e., AWS Certifications, OSHA 10, NCCER Core).
- Industry-related licensing.
- Experience developing and delivering instructional materials and information in a classroom setting at either the secondary or post-secondary level.
- Ademonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, aswell as working with broadly diverse communities.
