SUMMARY:
Responsible for promoting the success of the sports book by assisting guest through all facets of the sports wagering process including payment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED preferred and/or one to two years guest service and cash handling experience preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational and communication skills required.
This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations

Responsible for promoting the success of the sports book by assisting guest through all facets of the sports wagering process including payment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Maintains a working knowledge of the sports book in order to effectively explain to guests.
- Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations.
- Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary.
- Stock sports book stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean.
- Write sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner.
- Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs.
- Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests.
- Create and enter player tracking cards.
- Maintains current knowledge of attendant regulations, as well as the property's internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Maintains a working knowledge of casino facilities, as well as current and upcoming special events/promotions, in order to advise guests and fellow employees, whenever possible.
- Offer information on activities and direct guests for further information as necessary.
- Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
- Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
- Resolves minor guest conflicts.
- Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple tasks.
