Mission:
Our client, a distributor of premium pizza items, is looking for a Director of Procurement to add to their team. In this position, you'll be responsible for developing and executing strategic procurement initiatives to ensure the efficient, cost-effective sourcing of goods and services for food products (including packaging) required by the organization. This role focuses on supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, forecasting demand, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to align procurement and planning strategies.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food processing plant environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

- Create and execute procurement strategies
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors while keeping vendor relationships
- Collaborate with the operations, supply chain, and inventory teams to manage stock levels, ensuring the availability of critical materials while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Oversee supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain by maintaining contingency plans and diversifying sourcing to ensure business continuity.
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team
- Prepare and manage purchasing budgets.
- Provide regular reports to senior management
- Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of procurement, category management, or supply chain leadership experience in a wholesale environment
- Experience with foodservice or C-Store purchasing
- Strong negotiation, vendor management and contract management experience
- Experience in strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and market analysis
- Experience with ERP software
