Geriatric Oncologist Opportunity - Westwood, KS

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time academic clinical physician/investigator with demonstrated interest in geriatric oncology to join its expanding team including physicians and allied health professionals. This position will have the opportunity to work within either the Division of Medical Oncology, the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy, the Division of Geriatrics, or combination of the above, as well as the University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC), the Center for Survivorship and Patient-Oriented Research (CSPOR), and the Landon Center on Aging (LCOA).
About the Position:
This position will be at least 75% research (clinical research, translational research, laboratory research all welcome), with the remaining effort split between clinical care and education.
The responsibilities of this position will be largely focused on development of a geriatric oncology program and contributions to programs within KUCC, CSPOR, and LCOA, which can also include development of a T32 training program.
Successful candidates will possess a demonstrated record of excellence in clinical care, originality, and productivity in research, along with a proven or promising track record of securing extramural funding. An interest in graduate and medical education is also essential.
Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in Hematology, Oncology, or Geriatrics, with expertise in both inpatient and outpatient care settings. They should have a history of NIH or other federal funding and a strong publication record in geriatric oncology.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in geriatric oncology outpatient clinics, active R01 or equivalent funding, and a robust research portfolio focused on cancer survivorship and/or accelerated aging. Proven success in research and grant writing is highly desired.
Required Qualifications:
MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree (PhD alone is insufficient)
BC/BE in Hematology or Medical Oncology AND Geriatrics
