The Role
We are currently sourcing for a Scrum Master to support the Wealth Advisor Solutions squad within Fidelity's Financial Institutional Group.
As a Scrum Master you blend deep scrum expertise with a passion for mentoring and coaching, and constant improvement. As part of a highly collaborative squad you will advise, mentor, coach and train on performance against agile values, practices and processes to accelerate squad value delivery. In partnership with the squad leader, you will maintain a backlog, help to remove impediments, and facilitate agile ceremonies such as the daily stand up, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives. You will have responsibility for release management coordination and participate in scaling ceremonies and activities as you manage interdependencies across squads and product areas. You will examine and drive team performance through metrics and find opportunities for the squad to fully realize the benefits of working in an agile structure. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you will evolve and sustain an innovative agile culture with an emphasis on value delivery and high performing teams.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credential (or, similar Scrum credential) with 5-7 years of Scrum Master experience operating as a leader who serves teams and can effectively lead scaling practices across partnering teams and domain in a scrum framework.
- Proven change agent capable of coaching agile practices to teams and individuals from across different functions, experiences, and geographies as they work through new and unfamiliar situations.
- Brokerage/Financial and Technology background preferred.
- Experience and familiarity using tools including Jira, Jira Align, Miro (or similar), Confluence, CMT, Sharepoint, Flow Metrics, PowerBI, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for developing skills, modeling a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
- Excellent communication and people skills to rapidly build trust and positively influence others at all levels of the organization.
- Transparent leader and delivery champion who can illustrate progress with goals and outcome realization pursuant to strategic initiatives.
- Effective, proven facilitator able to brainstorm and generate solutions to overcome obstacles and innovate for accelerating value delivery.
- Advanced experience with dependency management, logistical coordination, and process fulfillment.
The Team
Wealth Advisor Solutions (WAS) is part the FI FundsNetwork and Wealth Advisory Services domain.
The WAS application is a referral program for PI prospects and clients which provides access to RIA's who custody with FI. It is a very successful program. This summer the WAS tool was brought in-house from a 3rd party vendor's external environment. The squad is focused on modernizing the WAS product to an upgraded tech stack, leveraging data lakes, and streamlining billing and the customer experience with new features.
Through your leadership, you will empower a team of technologists to improve delivery of WAS tools. You will support a cross-functional squad, engaging with all team members, Chapter Leaders, business stakeholders, and the Squad Leader. You will take the initiative on innovative problem solving, dependency management, and release planning.
