| What we are looking for

Reporting to the Director, Talent, the Total Rewards Manager is accountable for the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive total rewards programs that encompass compensation, benefits, pension and recognition for all employees at Payments Canada. This role ensures that total rewards practices and offerings are competitive, align with the organization's strategic objectives, and support employee attraction, motivation, and retention. The Total Rewards Manager collaborates with leadership to drive data-informed and strategically aligned decisions across the organization. This role is an integral part of the Talent team, working collaboratively to support effective talent attraction and retention for Payments Canada.

| A day in the life

Your responsibilities as the Total Rewards Manager will include:

Develop and Implement Total Rewards Programs:

  • Design, execute, and continuously improve compensation, benefits, pension and recognition programs to align with business goals.


Compensation & Benefits Management:

  • Oversee salary structures, job evaluations, and benefits administration to ensure competitive, fair, and effective total rewards offerings.


Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and provide leadership with data-driven insights on total rewards program effectiveness.


Collaboration and Support:

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to align total rewards strategies with business objectives, offering expert guidance on compensation and benefits matters. Provide support and expertise to the Pension Committee on Pension matters.


| What you will need to be successful

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive HR-related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing organization-wide compensation and benefits programs, with a strong emphasis on aligning these programs to support organizational strategy.
  • Proficient in conducting independent, in-depth compensation analysis, benchmarking, and benefits strategy.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, pay equity legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience facilitating, leading, and presenting at various forums and committees.
  • Ability to develop and foster trusting relationships with discretion and confidentiality, and to provide guidance and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Skilled in drafting presentations, briefings, and reports for senior leadership and the HR Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Technically proficient with advanced knowledge and experience in Google Sheets and Excel.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CPP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), or other relevant compensation-related certification is required for this role.
  • Ability to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.


Salary range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $112,364 and $140,455.
