About the Role & Team


As the Head of Product Operations, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our product management processes and helping Amplitude deliver innovations that drive success. You will lead initiatives that drive high-velocity and high-impact product execution while fostering collaboration across teams. Your responsibilities will span embedded product operations, cross-product coordination, planning, new product introduction, and integrating the voice of the customer into our strategies. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.


As the Head of Product Operations, you will:


  1. Embedded Product Operations:
    • Collaborate with product teams to ensure efficient execution of high-impact initiatives.
    • Develop and implement scalable processes for cross-team collaboration, ensuring product teams are fully supported during the product lifecycle.
    • Drive product operations excellence, enabling teams to operate with speed, efficiency, and agility.
    • Optimize product processes to ensure that PM best practices and business processes are consistent, well-aligned across the organization, and result in desired outcomes to support goals.
    • Proactively recognize potential risks in product operations and develop strategies to address them.
  2. Planning:
    • Oversee metric reviews, set standards for planning, and facilitate the planning process to ensure alignment across product teams.
    • Own the product planning process, including roadmap development, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with product managers to drive key metrics and KPIs that measure the success of operational processes and product initiatives.
  3. New Product Introduction:
    • Launch planning, coordinate beta programs, and ensure organizational readiness for product releases, focusing on driving market success.
    • Lead the NPI process, ensuring products are launched on time, within scope, and with high quality.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, product, marketing, supply chain, etc.) to align on timelines, deliverables, and execution strategies.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the product introduction process while driving continuous improvements in NPI frameworks.
  4. Voice of the Customer:
    • Ensure customer insights are central to product operations, influencing development and launch strategies.
    • Establish a comprehensive VoC program to capture, analyze, and integrate customer feedback into the product development process.
    • Work closely with customer support, sales, and product and design teams to prioritize feedback and ensure customer insights are incorporated into product roadmaps.
    • Lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and drive product improvements based on VoC data.
  5. Cross-functional Leadership:
    • Build strong feedback loops with stakeholders and customers to ensure product and other cross-functional team expectations are exceeded.
    • Provide regular updates on product operations, roadmaps, and performance metrics to key stakeholders.
    • Scale product knowledge throughout the company, serving as an ambassador for the product organization, product processes, and the product strategy/roadmap.
  6. Monitor industry developments and best practices in product operations to enhance our processes.
  7. Lead and cultivate a high-performing product & design operations team, promoting a culture of innovation and accountability.

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:


  1. A proven track record of 10+ years in product management or operations, ideally in a leadership role.
  2. The ability to think strategically while diving into detailed data analysis.
  3. A growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, with a knack for fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
  5. Experience in Agile methodologies and a passion for operational excellence.
  6. A proactive approach, driven by results and focused on delivering value.
