Title: Production Assistant, Sport & Casual
Location: Washington, D.C.
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package based on qualifications; classified as full-time salaried; exempt and not eligible for overtime.
Reports to: Director of Apparel Production, Sport & Casual
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
Position Overview
The Production Assistant for our Sport & Casual vertical will play a key role in supporting the end-to-end production process to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery. This position will focus on assisting the Production team with tasks including product development tracking, vendor communication, order management, and quality assurance coordination. The Production Assistant will collaborate closely with internal teams, such as Design, Merchandising, and Logistics, as well as external partners, to ensure that production schedules and objectives are met for the Sport & Casual product lines.
Core Responsibilities
- Admin Support for both Casual & Sport
- WIP / Airtable reporting accuracy
- Maintaining production timeline for all vendors
- Partnering with Buying and Merchandising team to maintain Merch trackers pertaining to finalized costs, finalized Fabrication, and updated bulk delivery dates
- Seasonal cost file creation by setting up cost files and entering updated costs
- Sample Management
- Issue and maintain sample POs - photoshoot samples, PPS, TOPs
- Track all samples and partner with Tech Design to prioritize fittings based on delivery windows
- Correspond with vendors and cross-functional team members to facilitate sample shipments and sample tracking. (Follow-up with UPS/ FedEx as needed.)
- Coordinate with Buying and Merch team on sample deadlines needed for photoshoots and wholesale appointments
- Bulk PO Management
- Issue all bulk POs to vendor
- Maintain all updates of POs to vendors (costing, delivery delays, split shipments, etc).
- Partner and collaborate with the Buying, Merch, and Logistics teams to ensure deliveries are being tracked once shipped.
- Vendor Communication
- Maintain relationships with daily communication to vendors and suppliers
- Partner with vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot any production issues and ensure smooth production
- Bulk Fabric & Trim Approvals
- Maintain the approved bulk fabric & trim archive for team's reference
- Testing
- Track and follow up on garment testing for seasonal styles and assist in the care label approval process with Design
- HTS Code maintenance
- Keep on-going HTS codes reference archive for both Casual / Sport lines
- Work directly with RXO to inquire on HTS code classifications on new styles
- Ensure POs have correct HTS codes
- Packaging trim management
- Maintaining the packaging label and trim order process with vendors
- Fittings/Sample Comments:
- Participate in fittings for each category, supporting Director in tracking changes, taking notes/ photos
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in Production or Product Development (preferred) or related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
