Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented

Vice President of

Marketing & Sales

to lead and optimize marketing, sales, and analytics efforts for a multi-location summer enrichment company. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytics background combined with expertise in strategic marketing, sales, and the ability to drive data-informed decisions. This individual will oversee marketing and admissions (sales) initiatives that drive enrollment growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement, while ensuring data insights are effectively communicated and used to optimize campaigns.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Marketing Leadership:

Define and implement comprehensive marketing and sales strategies that align with business objectives and support enrollment growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement across all camp locations and brands. Craft and execute omnichannel marketing strategies targeting prospective campers, parents, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Marketing and Sales Analytics Strategy & Leadership:

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and sales analytics strategy to ensure all marketing activities are data-driven and align with overall business goals. Analyze marketing performance and customer data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization across all channels (email, social media, print, etc.). Serve as the bridge between marketing, admissions, and analytics teams, translating complex data-driven insights into actionable strategies for the broader organization. Ensure analytics initiatives are in sync with company-wide priorities, driving ROI through smarter, data-driven marketing decisions.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

Use strong analytical skills to evaluate marketing and sales campaigns, customer behavior, and other relevant data to assess campaign effectiveness and ROI. Leverage insights to optimize marketing strategies and adjust tactics in real-time to drive continuous improvement in lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention efforts. Communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively to senior management and other key stakeholders to guide business decisions and strategy.

SEO Optimization & Oversight:

Oversee and manage SEO strategy and execution to improve organic search rankings, driving high-quality traffic to camp websites and landing pages. Collaborate with the content team to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all digital content, including site structure, website copy, and blog posts. Continuously monitor and optimize SEO performance, keeping up with trends and industry changes to maintain competitive advantage.

Lead Marketing, Admissions & Analytics Teams:

Lead and manage a small but dynamic marketing, admissions, and analytics team, setting clear strategic goals and ensuring alignment with department objectives. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on growth, learning, and excellence. Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development.

Campaign Performance & Optimization:

Continuously analyze the performance of marketing campaigns across digital, social, and traditional channels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Identify and implement opportunities for campaign optimization, testing new tactics, and refining strategies based on data insights. Produce regular performance reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and making recommendations for improvements.

Budget Management & Media Planning:

Develop and manage an annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across various channels and initiatives. Work with the team to develop and execute media plans that align with the company’s marketing goals and maximize ROI on advertising spend.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:

Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Admissions, Marketing, and Customer Service) to ensure marketing strategies are integrated across the organization. Regularly communicate marketing and admissions strategies, performance results, and optimization opportunities to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Qualifications: Experience : Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with a proven ability to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies across multiple brands and markets. Experience in the summer camp, education, or youth programming industries is a plus. Leadership : Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in setting strategic goals, providing mentorship, and developing high-performing teams. Marketing & Analytics Expertise : Extensive knowledge in digital marketing, SEO optimization, performance analytics, and data analysis. Proficiency with CRM and marketing platforms, particularly with Hubspot or Salesforce, plus Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar platforms. Data-Driven Decision Making : Ability to analyze complex data and transform it into clear, actionable insights. Experience in A/B testing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and performance tracking. Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights and marketing strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Project Management : Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Attributes: Passion for youth development in the summer camp industry and its impact on children and families. Creative, adaptable, and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners. Computer proficient, especially with CRM platforms such as Hubspot and Salesforce. Attention to detail and ability to coordinate and multi-task projects.

Working Conditions & Requirements: Occasional travel required to ESF’s sites and markets, as far south as Maryland and as far north as Connecticut. Working occasionally at weekend and evening events will be required. This position is in-person at ESF Headquarters:
