Job Details

As a Space Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a fully validated and verified space system to meet Hubble’s business objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in systems, aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or an equivalent degree in STEM +5 years in a directly relevant role Expert-level knowledge and understanding of the different technologies required to design, deploy, operate, and replenish a space system Proven track record of systems-level thinking and approach to problem-solving Expertise in architecting, defending, and seeking alignment on systems-level requirements and flow down to subsystems, keeping in mind design for manufacturing/design for integration and test Expertise in performing trade studies for and designing, integrating, and testing mechanical, electrical, and software systems Expertise in leading technical discussions through PDR (preliminary design review), CDR (critical design review), and FRR (flight readiness review) Experience in the full end-to-end cycle of space system design, through manufacturing and AIT (Assembly, Integration, & Test), and up to spacecraft readiness for shipment to launch base Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are a must Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when specific highly critical events dictate as needed Passion for creating state-of-the-art space systems

STRONGLY DESIRED +10 years of directly relevant experience Experience through launch base operations and in-orbit testing
