Job Description
Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc. (BCI) is seeking mid-level (10-15 years of experience) systems engineering candidates to provide support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Program Office in support of the Aegis Ashore (AA), Aegis Equipped Shipboard Vessel (ASEV), and Aegis Guam System (AGS) program with a focus on solid state radar integration. This position will work with BCI's current AA systems engineering team.

Experience Required:
Successful candidate(s) will possess a minimum of 10-15 years of general systems engineering / combat system experience gained while on active duty serving on DDGs, CGs, AA sites or land-based test sites working with Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). Preference is for senior enlisted or Limited Duty Officer (LDO). Experience may have been gained as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Combat Information Center (CIC) Officer, Air Defense (AD) Officer, System Test Officer (STO), Combat System Coordinator (CSC), Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC), Radar System Controller (RSC), or Test and Evaluation (T&E) subject matter expert of US Navy programs. Two (2) years of experience with the following Microsoft Office Suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project is required. Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) and PTC suite (Windchill) applications are desired. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is a plus.
Description of Duties:
Duties for this position may include: (1) Providing a range of systems engineering and analysis activities, including requirements development and review, review of performance analyses, test planning support, support for scenario development, review of pre-test predictions, participation in (or review of) studies and analyses, risk management and other such systems engineering and analysis tasking; (2) Participating in AA, AGS and ASEV working group forums; Technical Interface Meetings (TIM); and participate in various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) (i.e. System Engineering and Integration (SE&I), Test and Evaluation (T&E), Life-Cycle Logistics (LCL)), Solid State Radar Working Groups; (3) Drafting and reviewing technical artifacts including concept white papers, technical reports, requirements documents, specifications, change requests and design review packages; (4) Conducting engineering analysis to support design integration and resolution of emergent issues; (5) Supporting the NSWCDD AA Technical Project Lead in product and task definition, review of NSWCDD technical products, development and presentation of NSWCDD briefs to the MDA/ABZ Program Manager and Chief Engineer, as well as NSWCDD management.
Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to perform efficiently and effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines in and individual and team environment. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers.
Travel Requirement: Travel is minimal; 15 to 20 percent.
