Job Details Job Location Main Campus - Edmond, OK Position Type Student Salary Range $14.65 - $14.65 Hourly Job Category OTRS Ineligible Position Overview The Graduate Assistant (GA) is a 20-25 hour per week graduate assistantship. The primary responsibilities of the GA are largely based on the specific duties from a college or division. The position will apply theory to practice for the specific office area in which the position is housed. The assistantship shall be for the academic semester, with the opportunity to continue for the following academic year if agreeable to the supervisor and the GA. GA positions are academic and should include significant mentoring and professional development. GA should be considered part-time professionals in the field and given projects reflective of that role. The individual may not hold other employment on campus without prior permission from college or division. Hours per Week 20-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday. College/Department Overview The Case Manager will report directly to the Director of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution, who reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. The Case Manager shall work 20 hours per week and will perform the aforementioned duties. The position of Case Manager will be vital to the future development of the Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution at the University of Central Oklahoma. For example, the Case Manager would expand the capability of the Department to execute more timely and thorough investigation and adjudication of cases, procedural counsel to faculty, staff, and student inquiries about various policies; to effectively promote of the services of the Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution; to provide more timely and improved statistical reports of progressing and adjudicated cases; to more efficiently research case law and new state and federal legislation, and provide improved training and continued education opportunities for the Committee on Student Conduct and the University community-at-large. Department Specific Job Functions The primary purposes of the Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution Case Manager are as follows: Assist with the investigation and adjudication of various student conduct cases. Assist with the entering and management of cases within the database and filing systems. Assist with the Committee on Student Conduct fall training and continued education workshop presentations. Assist in annual review and revision of student conduct policy and protocol practices. Assist in representing the Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution and/or other University departments in select meetings regarding student misconduct, as needed. Participate in in-state professional development opportunities, such as conferences and training workshops. Assist in community outreach programming, as the opportunities arise. Advertise and promote the Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution through development and creation of marketing materials. Keep the Vice President for Enrollment & Student Success and /or the designee of the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success informed of emergency situations in the absence (local or otherwise) of the Director of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution; and Perform other related office duties as assigned. Enrollment Requirements Fall/Spring Semesters : All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester : Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position. Enrollment Exception : If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. Qualifications/Experience Preferred Completed Bachelor's degree. Accepted into Master's degree program at UCO. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, a commitment to cultural diversity, demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, demonstrated ability in customer service, a demonstrated commitment to helping and/or restoring others, some public speaking skills/experience, some experience in database management, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
