Description Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Executive Chef to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining high standards in quality, creativity, and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all dishes consistently meet high standards of quality and presentation. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create seasonal, innovative menus that cater to client preferences and dietary needs. Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing training and mentorship to maintain high performance. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and clear communication. Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure timely, efficient food preparation. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to keep ingredients and supplies stocked. Maintain rigorous food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations. Conduct quality control, tasting, and evaluating dishes to ensure they meet client expectations. Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless coordination of culinary elements for all events Requirements Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in high-volume banquet or catering settings. Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience. Expertise in culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and remain effective under pressure. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to outstanding guest experiences. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items. Manual dexterity for precise operation of kitchen equipment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
