Job Summary The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking an Intern, Social Media to support and contribute to the efforts of the Pittsburgh Pirates Social Media team throughout the 2025 Pirates baseball season while learning and developing their skills and knowledge of the industry under the supervision of the Coordinator, Social Media. As part of a multi-faceted and dynamic team, this individual will be able to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while consistently bringing new ideas to the table. We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and grow in the sports industry.
Responsibilities Cover Pirates home and away games across Pirates social media channels. This will include editing graphic templates through Adobe Photoshop, cutting and editing video clips through Adobe Premiere, and editing photos using Adobe Lightroom. Plan, gather, edit, and post content (game and non-game related) on all Pirates accounts, with a focus on TikTok. Provide live social coverage for community events, mascot appearances, and partnership activations. Contribute to the content creation for our ancillary social accounts: Pirate Parrot, Bucs Community, Young Bucs, Los Piratas, and Pirate Pup. Assist in the execution of the Pirates Influencer Program. Research and report on trends and initiatives across the league to develop new concepts and best practices. Assist in organizing content calendar for weekly posting schedule. Assist in weekly analytical tracking and updating of posted content. All other duties as assigned by the Social Media team. Qualifications Required:
Authorized to work lawfully in the United States. Degree-Seeking Program at Junior, Senior or Graduate level, majoring in Marketing, Communications, Production, or a related field. Attendance at most Pirates home games and working remotely for some away games. Experience managing TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Programs, specifically Photoshop, Premiere, and Lightroom. A mode of transportation to attend off-site events. Desired:
Knowledge of baseball. Experience in video production and/or photography. Sports experience. Fluency in Spanish.
