Job Description
Position: Custodian (Minitab Headquarters)
Position Summary:
Maintain the cleanliness, appeal, and efficiency of the Minitab headquarters office environments. Ensure the facility remains well-kept and sanitary through daily, weekly, and semi-annual maintenance routines.
This is an entry level position. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily:
- Main Kitchen: Clean countertops and sinks, mop floors, run dishwashers, and maintain overall tidiness of the area.
- Main Lobby: Clean glass surfaces, spot clean floors, water plants as necessary, and maintain a tidy appearance.
- Restrooms, Kitchenettes, and Locker Rooms (including Natatorium): Clean countertops, toilets, sinks, and mirrors, collect trash, and replenish paper products.
Twice Weekly:
- Trash Removal: Empty trash containers across all offices, kitchens, and lavatories; replace liners and clean trash containers as needed. Dispose of trash in the dumpster.
Weekly:
- Carpets: Vacuum all carpeted areas, spot clean or shampoo as required.
- Stair Towers: Sweep and mop all stairwells.
- Garden Level Atrium (outside the main kitchen and in D wing): Sweep and mop floors.
- Fitness Room: Sweep and mop floors.
- Shipping and Receiving Area: Mop floors as necessary.
- Recycling: Empty and dispose of recyclable materials near the dumpster.
- High Areas: Remove cobwebs from high places.
Semi-Annually:
- Windows: Clean interior office windows and ledges.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Replace light bulbs in hallways, offices, and common areas as needed.
- Maintain water softener systems, including filling salt containers and replacing water filters.
- Perform maintenance tasks on the waterfall collection pond.
- Occasionally assist with cleaning and organizing other Minitab properties.
- Assist with moving unneeded equipment to the dumpster or designated collection areas for removal.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Satisfactory work history and attendance record.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to perform tasks according to the scheduled work hours, typically 12 am to 8 am, 6 am to 2 pm, or 7 am to 3 pm.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality with office-related information.
- Valid driver's license or ability to arrange appropriate transportation.
- Ability to climb an 8' ladder to reach high areas.
- Physical capability to bend, stoop, lift, and move objects up to 40 pounds.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language.
