Are you passionate about working outdoors, solving problems with precision, and contributing to impactful projects? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Technician I to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in field operations, working closely with the Survey Crew Chief to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Preparation & Analysis
  • Gather and organize project documents to streamline survey processes
  • Collect property records to assist in establishing boundaries for properties, rights of way, and easements
Technical Execution
  • Conduct field data collection with survey instruments such as Trimble Total Stations, GNSS Receivers, and Digital/Automatic Levels
  • Train to analyze survey data in Trimble Business Center to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Train to perform calculations and drafting using Autodesk Civil 3D to ensure seamless field-to-finish capabilities in collaboration with a CAD Survey Technician
Mapping & Documentation
  • Assist with the preparation or review of survey maps, property descriptions, and exhibits, confirming accuracy and completeness
  • Train to review and interpret record plans, including those related to land development, railroads, and rights of way
  • Assist with the creation of Land Title and As-Built plans
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with the Survey Technicians and Professional Land Surveyor to review property lines, survey data, and mapping outcomes
  • Maintain well-organized records and ensure proper care of survey equipment
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and the community, serving as a positive representative of the firm
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in surveying is beneficial, but not required
  • This position will require the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Self-motivated, team-player that can work independently
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices requiring overnight or weekly travel
  • Valid U.S driver's license is required
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
