General Summary:

Dolce Vita Footwear, a women's fashion footwear manufacturer, is seeking a full-time Kid's Designer for their First Cost Division. We are a high energy, fashion driven company and are looking for an organized, hardworking, self-motivated person to join our New York based design team.

Work Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Private Brands customer & sales team from concept to final product
  • Research and forecast market trends, material, color and silhouettes
  • Design seasonal Kid's footwear collections for our customers
  • Development of seasonal color palette
  • Present seasonal Trend direction to customers
  • Sketch, CAD and create and maintain detailed spec sheets
  • Daily communication with overseas factories and agents
  • Work with sample rooms and agents on prototype corrections
  • Travel internationally and domestically as needed
  • Work closely with production to ensure designs are executed in appropriate price range & to customer standards.
  • Support design team on various tasks such as line sheets, customers PLM systems, sample tracking.
The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
  • Must have Bachelor or Associates degree in Fashion Design/Industrial design or have related experience
  • 5+ years' experience in footwear design
  • Experience in Kid's footwear is a requirement
  • Understanding of footwear components and constructions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ability to sketch by hand and by using software
  • Team oriented, able to juggle multiple tasks in fast paced environment


Salary Range: The pay range of this position is $75K - $85K. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate's skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits
