Whitaker Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Director to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain operations. As the Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the inbound and outbound supply chain, from procurement strategy to shipment deliveries, and implementing effective, data-driven strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance, including maximizing profitability on product purchases.
Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Process Improvement Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with overall business goals and objectives. Analyze market trends, evaluate risks, and identify opportunities for improvement in the supply chain. Lead and collaborate with our Vendor Relations management team to learn the dynamics of vendor interactions and optimize our partnerships. Identify and recommend technological improvements and solutions to enhance our supply chain processes and overall efficiency. Leverage data analytics to drive strategic decisions and continuous improvements.
Procurement & Inventory Management: Lead procurement team and activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, components, and services. Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize holding costs, and ensure product availability. Create improvements and oversee the return processes for both customer returns and vendor returns. Utilize data analytics to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or excess inventory. Incorporate profitability analysis into purchasing decisions to ensure that procurement activities contribute positively to the organization's bottom line.
Product & Order Data Transmission Ensure successful onboarding of vendors onto existing tools and systems for product metadata management. Streamline data transmission processes to facilitate efficient communication and collaboration with vendors. Optimize existing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions to ensure seamless transaction processing and data exchange with vendors and partners.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, logistics, warehouse, marketing, and sales, to ensure a seamless supply chain flow. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, executives, and external partners to provide updates on supply chain performance and initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team
Logistics: Oversee inbound and outbound freight to achieve timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers. Optimize logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain. Monitor geopolitical, economic, and regulatory factors affecting the supply chain and implement contingency plans. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practice
Performance Metrics and Continuous Improvement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate supply chain performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall efficiency. Use data analytics to monitor and improve performance metrics continuously
Budget Management: Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize expenses. Evaluate procurement costs regularly to ensure alignment with profitability targets and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in senior supply chain management, with a track record of successfully implementing strategic initiatives. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement. Familiarity with industry-leading technologies and tools for supply chain optimization. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic, growth focused business environment.
