Job Description
Performs difficult technical work assisting in the operation, installation and maintenance of technology equipment and software programs; does related work as required. Works also as a Software Application Specialist to support a variety of applications used in the various departments. Work is performed under limited supervision. Position Responsibilities
Provides technical support for the communications network, servers and applications that are used by County departments. Install servers, personal computers and printers with necessary software. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems.

Manages network communications equipment, such as routers, switches and VPN devices. Manages the Nutanix virtual environment, including Server set up and performance monitoring. Installs, sets up, and manages servers, Microsoft SQL databases, network security, email server, virus protection and spam control URL filtering for web access, and backup of data on server. Installs and sets up of new personal computers and workstations, including software. Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of software for specialized applications. Manages and responds to help desk requests. Designs, develops and implements web pages on our SharePoint and public facing webserver. Provides problem diagnosis and resolution for network, PC and printer users. Provides guidance, training and technical assistance to county staff. Provides training, support and maintenance for software packages. Participates in managing network/telecommunication system upgrade, expansions and equipment exchange. Creates and revises forms and spreadsheets, databases and files. Maintains inventory of hardware and software; installs/tests additional communications cabling drops throughout County facilities, as needed. Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteer. Performs related tasks as required. Works with department staff assisting with their software applications and acting as an interface between the department and the vendor. (this includes installation, recommended use, problem resolution and updates)
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of the operation uses and capabilities of technology equipment; thorough knowledge of hardware and software procedures and techniques; general knowledge of systems analysis and networking; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to analyze software programs and make adjustments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and user departments. Education, Experience, and Special Requirements
Associate Degree in Computer Science or any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with specialized training in information systems and considerable computer support experience.
System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) administration and utilization experience preferred.
Special Requirements: Valid driver's license.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Vacation Leave Regular full-time employees earn 13.5 days of vacation leave per year. With each 5-year increment of employment, vacation accrual increases.
Sick Leave Regular full-time employees earn 12 days of sick leave per year.
Paid Holidays County employees receive paid holidays annually. The Board of County Commissioners approves and may adjust the schedule as deemed necessary.
