Central Sterile Technician

Adecco Healthcare and Life Sciences is currently hiring for a Central Sterile Technician role for their client in Newark, NJ location .Job Type - Temp (6months with Possible extension )Shift Hours - 9am to 5pm (M-F), 35Hours/ Week Pay - 23-25/HRRoles and Responsibilities -Operates and monitors steam Autoclaves ,sonic washers and other sterilizing equipment. Keeps records of load completed ,items in load and maintenance procedures performed .Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments ,equipment, assembles wraps and sterilizers cassettes ,trays and instruments . Follows proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and equipment .Maintains necessary supply levels in sterile storage areas .Verifies that equipment functions properly ,requisitions for equipment maintenance ,repair or replacement and removes defective equipment .Assists with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures ,objectives and quality improvement , safety and environmental and infection control standards .Examines equipment to detect leak, worn or loose parts or other indications of disrepair .Maintain storage rooms , participates in quality assurance activities as assigned .Required Qualification / Experience-One year experience in healthcare, medical or dental setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures.New Jersey central service certification is required .Knowledge of decontamination , sterilization , assembly packing and monitoring of instrumentation .Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
