Job Description

Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is seeking candidates for a full-time Pediatric Intensivist to join our Critical Care Division. Preferred candidates will be board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care, and additionally will have extensive experience or formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. An interest/expertise in pulmonary hypertension will be given special consideration. Applicants should be eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia. The position will report to the Director of Pediatric Critical Care with the primary responsibility of caring for patients in the PICU and CICU. While this is primarily a clinical position, scholarly and research interests are highly valued and supported, as is teaching experience.

Inova Children's Hospital is a 226 bed pediatric hospital that is part of the Inova Fairfax Hospital medical campus, located in Northern Virginia. We have 26 pediatric critical care beds with 8 beds dedicated as a CVICU. We have a busy critical care service with the full spectrum of support technologies including cardiac and respiratory ECMO, CRRT, HFOV, pheresis, etc. All of the pediatric and surgical subspecialties are represented on our staff. We have been caring for children with congenital heart disease for more than 25 years and have an actively growing heart program. We offer surgical repair of all the most complex heart defects. Inova Children's Hospital is the only dedicated children's hospital in Northern Virginia. Provides care to critically ill pediatric patients who have been admitted to Inova Hospitals Coordinate with other healthcare professionals Ensure patients receive the highest level of care Inpatient practice Completes initial assessments and evaluations of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patients' medical conditions while providing treatment. Maintains a consultative relationship with multidisciplinary team. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Education:

Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Experience:

successful completion of Fellowship. Licensure:

Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia. Certification:
