Transitions after elaborate medical procedures are not easy. We strive to facilitate the entire procedure in a way that our patients and their visitors feel informed and comfortable. Our team of qualified professionals will provide the care that is needed for the recovery from injury, surgery, or serious illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: COVID-19 vaccination, including a booster, is a requirement for the position unless a religious belief or medical exemption applies. Newly hired employees must be fully vaccinated, including a booster, for COVID-19 by the first day of work unless a religious belief or medical exemption applies. Qualifications: Completion of LVN or RN training from accredited school or college. Valid LVN or RN license in good standing. Valid DSD certificate. Valid CPR and BLS card. Minimum of 1 year in the role as a DSD. Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistance. Ability to read fine print on tablet, progress notes and/or medical labels. Responsibilities: Manage, develop, and direct the overall operation of the nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility, and as directed by the Administrator and Medical Director. Treat each resident with kindness, dignity and respect. Refer to each resident by their name. Maintain a positive and calm disposition. Communicate clearly, diplomatically, and effectively when speaking to residents, family members, visitors, staff and any governmental agency personnel. Set an example of working collaboratively between multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrate patience, initiative and willingness to assist residents that may be difficult. Commit to always doing the right thing. Review scheduling and staffing to ensure daily PPD requirements are met. Coordinate with the Administrator to recruit and select nursing staff. Plan, develop, and coordinate orientation programs as well as in-service educational and on-the-job training. Partner with department directors in providing in-service trainings. Perform administrative requirements such as completing forms, reports, orientation records, etc. Develop reports, maintaining records reference manuals and records pertinent to in-service training programs. Participate in Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee. Provide patient care when directed. Follow Infection and Control policies, oversight of facility Infection Prevention Program and Antibiotic Stewardship program. Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately. Abide by all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords. Keep abreast of new state and federal regulations as they pertain to skilled nursing. Attend meetings and serve on committees.
