The Opportunity:
Support the DoD as Senior Linux Administrator for an Army Task Order that provides system administration, network administration, and database administration to support, maintain and operate an enclave of the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN).
This position is a hybrid position that usually only requires 2 days onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
Responsibilities:
Perform system administration tasks on RHEL 7,8, and 9 systems including, but not limited to: OS installation, patching, hardening, reporting, licensing, and software maintenance
Implement other Linux distributions as necessary to fulfil specific needs
Use problem solving skills to identify and correct Linux based problems
Ensure IT systems meet and/or exceed Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) requirements to maintain the information system’s Authority to Operate (ATO)
Work with containerized workloads and the infrastructure that supports them such as Docker
Assist various teams in standing up or improving new and existing technologies by providing Linux based platforms for specialized services or software
Use RHEL products such as Satellite to centralize and simplify RHEL licensing
Use Infrastructure as Code and Ansible to automate common administration tasks
Provide support to customers and team members to solve challenging IT problems
Qualifications:
Required:
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience performing administration of Red Hat, Rocky, or CentOS Linux
Experience implementing and reporting on DISA Linux STIGs
Experience with Linux based scripting and automation
Experience with Containerization
7 Years of Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline. An Advanced degree is desired.
8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program Certification (Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC)
Desired:
Experience with Ansible automation
Experience with Docker/Podman
Experience with Virtualization
Experience with VMware vSphere
Experience with cloud-based Linux technologies

Pay Range
: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
