Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to join NLG Capital’s growing Alternative Investments Team. This person will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic equity and debt investments that will drive significant value creation to both National Life Group’s balance sheet and our strategic partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of NLG Capital’s Alternative Investment Strategy, emphasizing income-generating asset classes including Direct Lending and Asset Backed Lending.
Underwrite and originate investment opportunities that create alignment of interests while delivering strong returns. Examples include GP equity investments, NAV Lending, Management Company Loans, and other strategic solutions.
Conduct thorough due diligence on potential General Partner (GP) investment opportunities, analyzing fund performance, track record, investment thesis, and overall risk profile.
Support the structuring and negotiation of investment terms with strategic partners, ensuring alignment with NLG Capital's risk and return objectives.
Maintain transparency around the Deal Pipeline, capturing relevant information and disseminating it to Senior Management.
Create pitchbooks and investment memos to facilitate recommendations to NLG Capital’s Investment Committee.
Monitor and manage existing investments, providing regular updates on performance and portfolio alignment.
Conduct ongoing market research to stay abreast of trends and developments in the private credit and alternative investment space.
Collaborate with colleagues across the firm including legal, compliance, and accounting.
Minimum Qualifications
Proven track record of originating, structuring, and managing complex investment transactions.
Strong understanding of GP financing solutions, including NAV Lending, GP Staking, and Management Company Loans.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to assess risk and identify investment opportunities.
Superior communication skills with the ability to effectively present investment proposals to senior management.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in private equity, fund financing, investment banking, or a related field.

BENEFITS of a Career at National Life ! The base salary range for this role is between $150,000 - $225,000 annually. We are open to varying levels of experience. The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. National Life offers a competitive total rewards package which includes: a 401(k) retirement plan match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a company funded wellness account for director and below employees; 10 paid holidays; a generous paid time off plan (22 days of combined time-off for non-exempt employees and exempt employees have discretion in managing their time, including scheduling time off in the normal course of business, but in no event will exempt employees receive less sick time than required by state or local law); 6 weeks of paid parental leave; and 6 weeks of paid family leave after a year of full-time employment.
