Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
  • Assist the dentist during all phases of dental procedures, including examinations, fillings, extractions, and other treatments.
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and infection control guidelines.
  • Take dental X-rays.
  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dental operatory.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Maintain patient records and update patient information in the electronic health record system.
  • Assist with insurance claims and billing procedures.
• Other Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the dentist or office manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a dental office preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in dental software (Open Dental) a plus.
• X-ray certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
