NYC/Financial District Position Summary:

The Project Manager, Engineering & Architecture position reports to Chief of Engineering and Architecture in the Asset Management Department. This position performs physical inspections, design reviews, rehabilitation plan and cost review, and construction monitoring of occupied rehabilitation projects. HDC’s mission is to create and preserve quality affordable multi-family housing developments throughout the five boroughs of New York. Responsibilities:

Analyze and assess building conditions, maintenance practices, energy efficiency, storm resiliency, construction plans, rehabilitation costs, and monitor construction progress. Prepare written reports to management and ownership with findings and recommendations. Review owner responses to findings and determine the feasibility of the proposed remediation. Complete plan and cost reviews of rehabilitation scopes to advise financing staff. Monitor construction progress and review construction requisitions. Participate in evaluating initiatives and policies affecting the physical strength of HDC’s portfolio and identification of possible risks to the portfolio. Participate and represent HDC in meetings with borrowers, business partners and other agencies. Receive certification and perform NSPIRE inspections. Supervise and mentor junior members of the E&A team. Train new hires and review their work product. Work collaboratively with senior E&A staff members to create new work procedures as E&A Division’s responsibilities expand. Oversee third party consultants as applicable. Coordinate and perform API CM inspections for the NYCHA PACT portfolio. Frequent travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management. 7 plus years relevant experience in engineering, architecture, or construction management. Knowledge of NYC building codes, multi-family residential construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building conveyance systems. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools. Preferred Qualifications:

NYS licensed PE or RA, LEED, BPI or CEM certification. Knowledge of Federal State and New York City affordable housing programs. NYS driver’s license preferred, but not required.
