A Brief Overview We are looking for a highly capable AVP, Claims Support to join our team and work from our Omaha, NE, Richmond, VA, or San Antonio, TX office. We work together in the office five days a week in order to strengthen our culture, build team connections, and drive profitability. This individual will have the exciting opportunity to lead the support function for workers’ compensation, casualty, management & professional liability, property, and programs claims departments nationwide.
How You Will Make an Impact: Strategically manage a team of Claims Support Supervisors and internal support positions who have accountability for customers throughout the U.S. Drive continuous improvement through initiatives involving the employees, processes and technology. Problems and issues faced in doing so require understanding of broader set of issues and intent of policy or approach. Support the AVP, National Claims Operations in the development of strategic and operational plans aimed at achieving efficiencies. Implement data driven improvements across the claims support teams and utilize reporting to gauge key success metrics. Successfully manage relationships with a variety of key stakeholders across the claims function. Support the claims selection process to retain claims support professionals that consistently demonstrate appropriate industry knowledge, maturity and a professional commitment to excellence and customer service. Conduct Development Reviews and engage direct reports in developmental and skill building opportunities. Train and mentor staff. Act as a role model demonstrating belief in, and commitment to, the aspiration values of Argo Group, continuing to build and lead a value-based organization committed to long-term success. What We Need: Bachelor’s degree and seven years’ experience
supporting claims functions with five years in a people leadership capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong focus on execution in getting things done right. Proven ability to consistently produce and deliver expected results to all stakeholders. Strong focus on selection and a reputation for his/her ability to identify, attract and hire talented people. Dedicated to developing talent. Understands and is committed to developing people so that they realize their full potential. Ability to articulate the financial value of your work at multiple responsibility levels inside our clients’ business which may include the CEO. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent evaluation and strategic skills required. Strong claim negotiation skills a must. Must possess a strong customer focus. Must work independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software. Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills. The ability to read and write English fluently is required. Must demonstrate a desire for continued professional development through continuing education and self-development opportunities. Physical Demands Unless otherwise specified below as an essential function of the job, this role generally operates within a standard office environment requiring the use of a PC and other related office equipment.
