POSITION OVERVIEW:
The DYCD Funded SONYC program represents an enhanced afterschool enrichment model that fosters academic, social and emotional competencies, and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. The program provides opportunities for youth to explore their interests and creativity, build skills that support academic achievement, and cultivate youth leadership and community engagement. The SONYC After School Assistant Program Director, under the direction of the Program Director and Deputy Director, is responsible for overseeing all areas of the program at ACDP, which serves 91 participants. The Assistant Program Director is an integral part of the ACDP school community and participates in the leadership direction of the school. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.
This position pays: $22.52 per hour.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overall responsibility for program design, effective service delivery, and all administrative tasks, including timely reporting to DYCD.
Serve as part of the management team and ACDP leadership team.
Ensure full compliance with DOH's and DYCD's operational and facilities requirements.
With support from HR, recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff in compliance with DOE & DOH regulations.
Recruit and enroll at least 91 students from 6th - 8th grade via DYCD Connect.
Ensure daily attendance is appropriately inputted and tracked on DYCD Connect.
Ensure a Rate of Participation (ROP) of at least 75%.
Connect and engage students and their families with program services.
Ensure program compliance with DYCD requirements.
Comply with OCFS Regulations to provide program participants with appropriate food and snacks.
Guide and direct the implementation of Discovery Education Partnership in the after-school program.
Ability to pivot between in-person and virtual programs as needed based on health considerations and guidance from governmental authorities.
Oversee reporting and provide the Deputy Director with relevant information in a timely manner.
Participate in all ACDP management team activities, including but not limited to:
Programming
Team meetings
After School and DYCD meetings
Weekly supervision with supervisor (Director or Deputy)
DYCD compulsory trainings and meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma (Required); Associate degree or bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, Social Work preferred.
Approved by DOH, PETS (or have all required credentials).
Registration of Site Supervisor component of (OCFS) DOH SACC.
At least 1-2 years of successful supervision of staff in a relevant youth development field.
At least 3-5 years of successful experience providing services to Middle School-aged youth and working with school personnel (e.g., Principals, Teachers, Guidance Counselors, and Parent Coordinators).
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
COVID-19 vaccine (Required) prior to beginning employment.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Proven skills in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation; can work in a well-planned manner and follow through on multiple deliverables.
Ability to collaborate, lead, and develop others; forge strong partnerships and maintain professional relationships.
Creative and innovative in the fields of youth enrichment and education.
Flexible and adaptable, especially when faced with challenging situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly in various settings.
Proficient in the use of DYCD Connect, Google Suite, Zoom, Google Classrooms, MS Office applications, social media, and other technology platforms for youth programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
All work is completed on-site.
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Subject to inside environmental conditions; protected from weather conditions.
Light work (lifting approximately 20 pounds maximum with frequent pushing/pulling, lifting, and/or carrying of objects up to 10 pounds).
Extended and frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
Frequent typing (fine finger dexterity).
Follows clearly defined policies and procedures.
Makes decisions within well-defined parameters for the completion of own tasks only.
