Your Role:
This is an opportunity to join a Fintech startup at an exciting time! Become one of the
CORE influencers in the company. The Revenue Accountant will assist in invoicing and
revenue recognition and help mature our accounting functions and reporting needs.
The Accounting & Finance team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will be reporting directly to the CFO. Things You Get To Do: Ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Preparing and reconciling monthly revenue reports and account balances, and providing detailed analyses of variances to budget and forecast. Own multi-entity invoicing process and manage accounts receivable ledger. Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by compiling journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to automate the process. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner. Assist in the annual audit process – assemble support for auditor requests and responses to auditor inquiries. Assisting with the development and implementation of internal controls and policies related to revenue accounting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting. Who You Are (Must-Haves): Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 3-5 years relevant experience in financial services preferred. Ability to obtain FINRA Series 27 after hire. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills. Experience with ASC 606 on revenue recognition. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicated home office with minimal daily direction. Must possess the ability to adapt to a changing business and regulatory environment. Team-orientated with a desire to help and support other team members. Enjoys challenges and taking ownership of new responsibilities. Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves): Previous experience in accounting function at a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or financial services industry a plus. Sage Intacct experience a plus. CPA or in progress.
