Travel Sterile Processing Tech - $1,417 per week in Bethpage, NY

Job Title: Technologist or Technician Job Specialty: Sterile Processing Job Duration: 8 months Shift: Mid - 7.5x5 - 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Every other weekend required Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week Experience: 1.5 years experience accepted if tertiary experience; 2 years experience if not License: High School Diploma or equivalent, required Certifications: Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD must not expire during term of assignment) Must-Have: - Experience with STERIS Washers and Autoclave - Ability to rotate through all areas, including decontamination Job Description: - Work in a large, busy, state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for multiple facilities. - Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions while following department protocols. - Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures. - Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts. - Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination. - Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality. Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer. - Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels. - Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment. - Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, required. Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods, required. - Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and/or written instructions. - Scrubs provided and must be laundered at the facility. Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered.
