Job Title: Radiation Therapist Job Specialty: Radiation Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day - 8x5 - 8:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Washington State Radiologic Technologist registration required within 90 days of hire Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy Registered or Registry (RT(T)) eligible, Completion of certification required within three months of hire, Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) accredited Radiation Therapist program - Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications - Well-developed problem-solving skills - Ability to prioritize workload among frequent interruptions with competing priorities - Knowledge of the healthcare environment Job Description: - Administer therapeutic radiation treatments as part of the oncology patient care team. - Deliver radiation treatment through the operation of the linear accelerator and associated imaging systems. - Perform daily patient and room setup in accordance with each treatment plan. - Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). - Confirm appropriate charge entry for the services provided. - Conduct EPID review. - Participate actively in Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. - Complete mandatory learning requirements within specified timelines. - Attend and actively engage in all department, team, and committee meetings. - Comply with all departmental and location-specific policies and procedures. - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee. - Maintain current licensure and/or certification as required. Physical Demands and Work Environment: - This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. - The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. - The position requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Additional Information: Potential to float between locations. Ability to call off up to 3 shifts per contract. Holiday coverage may be required.
