Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor will assist with the oversight of day-to-day warehousing functions at a specific distribution center or cross dock. The ideal candidate will lead a team of warehouse associates to meet operational goals and support the Assistant Warehouse Manager by managing inventory and assigning tasks to the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring timely reporting of loads/returns compliance within industry fair standards and the agreed upon communication mechanism
- Participates in goal setting and taking accountability for results
- Enforce company compliance standards
- Support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
- Communicate shift goals of facility; work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement; provide progress or constraint updates to management
- Enforce location safety management plans
- Demonstrate reliability and commitment to punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned (may vary based on client requirements)
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience with leading a team to goal achievement, prior supervisory experience a plus
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with a strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with team members and management.
- Ability to work overtime (as needed) to meet operational and customer demands
- Ability to maintain performance in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to multi-task with excellent time management skills
- Intermediate computer skills
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Two (2) years or more of experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience
