 Job Overview:
The Inbound Auditor in a warehouse setting is responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt and documentation of goods entering the warehouse. This role involves performing audits on incoming shipments, inspecting the quality and condition of products, verifying inventory levels, and ensuring proper storage procedures are followed. The Inbound Auditor plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy in inventory records, reducing errors, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving & Inspection:
  • Verify the quantities, descriptions, and conditions of goods against purchase orders or other relevant documentation.
  • Inspect items for any signs of damage or discrepancies and document findings.
  • Ensure that incoming goods are handled correctly and stored in the designated areas in a timely manner.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Ensure all inbound shipments are properly documented, including shipping receipts, packing lists, and inventory updates.
  • Generate and submit audit reports detailing discrepancies or issues, such as damaged goods or discrepancies in quantity.
  • Maintain accurate records of inbound shipments and inventory levels.
• Inventory Control:
  • Assist in updating the warehouse management system (WMS) with accurate information about stock levels and movement.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with periodic full inventory counts.
• Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure all inbound processes comply with warehouse safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure the proper handling of materials to prevent errors and damage.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Communicate with warehouse personnel, suppliers, and other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with inbound shipments.
  • Work with the logistics team to schedule deliveries and optimize the flow of goods into the warehouse.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Participate in root cause analysis when discrepancies or quality issues arise and recommend corrective actions to prevent future problems.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards before they are processed or stored.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred).
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or errors in documentation.
• Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, and other inventory software.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift and move items as required (e.g., heavy packages, pallets).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with barcode scanners or RFID technology.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of basic inventory control principles and best practices.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with standard warehouse hours.
• May require occasional evening or weekend shifts based on warehouse needs.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
