SUMMARY Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position oversees the engineering work related to developing and improving manufacturing processes while working closely with multiple departments across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the Manufacturing Engineering team by providing guidance, assigning projects, and providing training where necessary to properly support production operations and business growth initiatives.
Lead manufacturing operations through problem identification and resolution.
Lead continuous improvement projects that will reduce safety risks, improve process ergonomics, reduce cost, improve efficiency, and/or improve quality.
Maintain and update a library of process equipment documents (procedures, SOPs, flow charts, plant layouts, etc.).
Evaluate and monitor processes to determine efficiency improvements and reduction of scrap and rework opportunities.
Assist in the implementation of new and existing equipment to develop manufacturing cells that optimize production efficiencies.
Troubleshoot problems with production operators and recommend corrective action.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field highly preferred.
8+ years of related Engineering and manufacturing experience.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems and solid working knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials.
Well-developed human relations / people management skills; able to delegate authority and provide guidance, direction, goals, feedback, and discipline.
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to make quick and appropriate decisions.
Proficient at multitasking and prioritizing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong overall computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
