The Operations & Manufacturing department at Tools for Humanity is responsible for all aspects of driving the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Physical Security, Field Operational Compliance and Technical Support of our world-class hardware devices reaching billions of people globally. We are a rapidly growing, highly cross-functional team that strategically partners with industrial design, software, market operations, legal and the finance teams to define product requirements and execute on development. About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager, Hardware Compliance to join our highly dynamic team and ensure that our devices meet global compliance standards. This role requires a pro-active, detail-oriented individual with a good understanding of electrical and mechanical contexts, high project management skills, and a willingness to dive into global norms, regulations, and standards.
In this role you will:
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to secure product compliance already in the development phase and identify potential exposure. You will create assessments for new designs and identify compliance gaps caused by redesigns and additional features.
- Build and work with a network of global consultants, test labs, and experts to ensure that our devices meet all applicable requirements globally.
- Design, build, and maintain test setups needed to demonstrate compliance with all applicable norms and standards.
- Manage parallel homologation projects across the globe to support our ambitious expansion goals.
- Create and maintain documentation and records, product manuals, and product marking to show compliance of our devices globally.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in certification standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and adherence to the latest industry best practices.
About You:
- Preferred area of expertise: We are particularly interested in candidates with excellent project management skills and previous experience in homologation of IoT products and/or Li-Ion batteries. We value candidates with 3 to 5 years of working experience in highly dynamic environments.
- You’re interpersonal. You know that no two people are the same and can mediate and resolve conflicts.
- You are committed to upholding ethical standards in the certification process.
- You have strong cross-cultural competency. You can communicate and do business across different cultures and countries and have experience working in cross-cultural environments.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with suppliers, regulators, and technical teams alike.
- You thrive in challenging environments and have the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- You conduct yourself professionally, operating with empathy and urgency, and you have a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to travel globally if needed for accelerating global certification projects.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH in San Francisco ranges from $100,000 - $150,000, plus a competitive long-term incentive package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
